Pigeon Island – TARIFA
Isla de las Palomas, currently connected to land by a road, represents the southernmost point of the Iberian Peninsula and continental Europe.
The Island is the division between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
This Island is famous for its long history and for all the secrets it hides.
It was for many years a military enclave, a headquarters of the Army.
In addition, in the northeastern area of the island, the remains of at least five hipogeos funerarios Phoenician-Punic dated between the 6th and 4th centuries B.C.

They have never allowed entry, since, due to its peculiar ecological values, the Strait of Gibraltar Natural Park meant the protection of the island.
